the weather is awfully nice tonight
it's cold outside
but not as cold as it was in the cinema
i kick at random pebbles along my path
guk merely watches with his hands
stuffed inside his pockets
we head towards the train station
to get the tickets to our next ride
we have a half hour left
which means some more time left to explore
"we're not going to meet each other
after this is over right?"
he looks up at me reluctantly nodding
"i guess" he answers
i nibble on my bottom lip, a bad habit
and then i lower my head nervously
"this may seem weird but
can you do me a favour?"
he nods curtly
"i need to get some things off my chest
you don't have to say anything
just
listen okay?"
he nods again
"go on"
"i feel frustrated
with everything and everyone
it's just that nothing ever seems to go my way
the world is pressing me against a wall
and it's so suffocating that i find it
so, so hard to cope sometimes, you get me?"
he doesn't react for a moment
and i'm starting to regret
spilling my feelings to a complete stranger
whom i literally just met a few hours ago
but in the end
he replies with a soft "i do"
the look he gives me urges me to continue
"i feel burdened by pressure
responsibilities, school, family, everything
it's just too heavy for me to carry around"
i take a deep breath
closing my eyes
"the universe, it's spinning too fast
and i can't control it, and i hate it
because it doesn't wait for things to happen
it just won't stop"
"is that why you're here?"
i pause
my fingers fiddling with the hem of my coat
i catch his wavering eyes
"i want to run"
i say with a heavy sigh
"but i don't know where to go"
"are you planning to go back?"
i smile bitterly
there's no way they won't find me
"yes
just... not yet"
he lowers his head
acknowledging my answer
at least I feel a little lifted now
"thanks for listening to me
i might feel a little better now"
"we're not much different"
he says after a few minutes of silence
"i'm lost too"
"it's just the way it is sometimes
life is tough but
we'll just have to show it who's tougher right?"
guk nods
"you know, you sound like a cool person"
"you haven't seen cool yet"
i chuckle, stopping in front of an open alleyway
he gives me a puzzled look
as i dig into my bag
taking out a can of spray

i spray my initials, LHR
on the brick wall of the alleyway
while guk watches silently
with wide eyes filled with awe
it makes him look a little bit
cute, he's cute
i step back and hand him the can
he stares at it in silence
"take it
you won't get another chance, you know"
he hesitates, but takes it anyway
i let him take my place
and he draws the initial, JJK
on the wall beside my artwork
"nice" i say when he finishes
"it feels good to meet someone
who has the same ideas as mine
for once"
guk doesn't reply
instead he turns to me
and for a few seconds our eyes meet
it's as if our minds are connected
those eyes
they seem to say
"you and me
against the world"
and then he does something
i don't expect him to do
he pulls off his mask
and as the streetlight illuminates his face
i can see him clearly
right in front of me
stands a lost boy
searched by the entire nation
